An original Grande Ballroom postcard promoting a two-night run by the Yardbirds with Frost and MC5 across March 3-4. The card's purple, art-nouveau-influenced portrait of a Yardbird onstage is characteristic of the venue's psychedelic house style.By the late 1960s the Yardbirds had already served as a launching pad for three of rock's most influential guitarists - Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page - before Page went on to form Led Zeppelin. This Grande Ballroom postcard documents the band's continuing club and ballroom circuit during that same era. This example comes from the personal collection of Mary Cobra (Mary Ramirez), founding guitarist of The Detroit Cobras.Key Details & Collectability
