Hakata 18 Year Old Sherry Cask Japanese Whisky｜ Other Products

Hakata 18 Year Old Sherry Cask Japanese Whisky is the oldest release from Hakata, a whisky from Fukuoka Prefecture on the southern island of Kyushu. Hakata is made from barley fermented with koji in the Kyushu tradition, distilled and then matured for eighteen years in Spanish oak sherry casks, and bottled at 43% ABV.Eighteen years in sherry wood give it a deep, complex nose of dried fruit, caramel and vanilla with a distinct nuttiness of almond and hazelnut. The palate is full-bodied and rich with a smooth, velvety texture: raisin, fig and caramel dominate, with oak and spice adding depth. The finish is long and warming with a gentle spiciness.Sherried Japanese whisky with an eighteen-year age statement is a rarity at this price, and this 750ml bottle is a sipping whisky for collectors.
