Booth's is one of the oldest names in gin, founded by the Booth family at the Red Lion Distillery in Clerkenwell, London around 1740 — the height of the Gin Craze. It grew into one of the most famous London Dry gins of the 19th and 20th centuries, sold in distinctive hexagonal bottles bearing the family's heraldic red lion, and earned the nickname "the gentleman's gin": reputedly a favorite of both Ernest Hemingway and Ian Fleming, and the gin Winston Churchill was said to keep on hand. It was a fixture of the classic Gin and Tonic era before disappearing from shelves for years, and has since been reintroduced to the American market with the recipe restored. The style is textbook London Dry: juniper-led, with coriander, angelica, and citrus peel in classic proportion, distilled to be crisp and clean rather than showy. Expect a bright, piney juniper nose with a lift of lemon peel, opening into a dry, straightforward palate of juniper, coriander spice, and light citrus, finishing clean and short — a gin built to disappear into a good cocktail and let the drink shine. Honest note: this is an old-school workhorse, not a botanical showpiece, and it's priced accordingly. That's precisely why it's worth having: a G&T that tastes like 1950s London, a Martini with an olive, or a Gimlet the way the Royal Navy drank it. A genuine piece of gin history at a house-pour price.Buy Booths Finest Old Gin online with fast shipping right to your door.
