Climax Spirits Wood-Fired Whiskey is what happens when Tim Smith of Discovery Channel's Moonshiners puts his moonshine in wood. Rather than a conventional bourbon, Wood-Fired Whiskey takes Smith's century-old Climax, Virginia moonshine recipe, distilled from corn, rye and barley malt, and ages and filters it with toasted oak and maple wood, then rests it in oak containers to cool, a process Smith calls revolutionary and the brand says puts the whiskey in a class of its own.The oak brings color, vanilla and light caramel, while the maple wood adds a gentle sweetness that plays off the corn, and the result is a light, approachable whiskey that keeps the clean grain character of the moonshine underneath. It is an easy pour over ice, in a whiskey and cola or in a simple Old Fashioned, and it is a natural next step for fans who started with Climax Moonshine. Like everything Climax makes, it comes with a good story and the face of one of TV's most famous moonshiners on the label.Buy Climax Spirits Wood-Fired Whiskey online with fast shipping right to your door.
